coal 45 70 350 rn

Sep 22, 2012 · I'm looking to take a .45-70 case and trim the case back to 1.80" maximum case length, to meet our states maximum case length regulations for deer legal rifles. I want to load a 350 grain cast bullet, with gas check into this shorter case. The bullet is .852 in length, and .455 from nose to crimp. My question is, will a shorter CARTRIDGE OVERALL LENGTH create a dangerous pressure situation in

Oct 06, 2006 · The 350 grain Hornady RNFP's loaded ahead of 28 grains of 2400 is my most accurate 45/70 load. Easy to shoot and VERY accurate and consistant, try it you will like it. I have been shooting this load for a long time and have spoken of it and offered it to many here who have also spoken of it's accuracy after trying it

Jan 04, 2011 · The .45-70's straight-wall configuration and large caliber make it extremely easy to handload. But buy a lot of powder; it's a big case. Handloading guides for the .45-70 commonly provide at least two different categories of loadings, one for 19th-century-design firearms and replicas, the other for stronger, modern arms like the post-1973 Marlin Model 1895 or Browning and Ruger falling-block

Apr 11, 2016 · The COAL for the Interlock is irrelevant for the Berry's bullet. For a plated bullet in .45-70 and a tube fed Marlin, you'll want to roll crimp into the cannelure to prevent 1) bullet set back (roll crimp), and 2) bullet damage (in the cannelure). Rolling into the straight side of a plated bullet is no good

Feb 10, 2009 · The 400 grain Speer flat soft point is their answer for 45-70 levers. I suggest you abandone using the 350 grain family of bullets and either move back to the 45-70/300 grain bullet or up to the Speer 45-70/400 gr flat soft point. Screwing up a bunch of brass to take the Hornady bullet is a waste of good brass
