Can anyone help me. have a Miele washing machine and it has awful sand type bits in the drum. Bit like white washing powder/limescale. Only use washing liquid to wash. Have no idea what it can be. Or tell me the best way to give the machine a really good wash out. Although don't think this will get rid of it. Thank you for any ideas

May 03, 2011 · Something else to look at is if you have a tank-type water heater, catch some water in a bucket from the “flush valve” on the bottom of the tank. You’ll see if it’s sand or filter media, and besides it helps the life and efficiency of the water heater to flush any sediment out of it periodicly. Good luck. Dan

As far as the sand, try Affresh Washer Cleaner to flush out the debris from your tub and drain. If this does not work, you may have to take apart the drum to clean it out thoroughly. I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the cleaner. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page. Affresh Washer Cleaner

Hi, my washer made a lot of noise during the drain cycle, then spit out grey-like sand from where the water drains into the sink. this looked like bits of chewed up plastic with a gravel-like consistency.
